The engineering diploma: 5 years to become a digital engineer serving society

Dual skills in software and hardware

The IG2I aims to train digital engineers with the ability to design and integrate innovative and responsible digital components and solutions to create autonomous and embedded systems that can be integrated into complex systems, combining software and hardware aspects.

With the aim of training multi-skilled engineers in the digital sciences, the courses offered at IG2I cover a wide range of subjects, from analogue and digital electronics to computer science, including digital systems in the cloud and communicating embedded systems. The course is also based on solid foundations in the humanities, linguistics and organisational sciences, knowledge and skills that are essential for an engineer who is a driving force in business and society.

It is in this context that the IG2I trains engineers to serve society by integrating future societal and environmental issues.

Initial training or apprenticeship

IG2I offers two ways to become an engineer.

Initial training under student status begins after the baccalauréat and lasts 5 years.

Apprenticeship training (sandwich course – apprentice status) takes place over the last three years of the five-year course.

Equipment and practical rooms

To facilitate learning by doing and collaborative learning, IG2I has a large number of specialised practical rooms (robotics, IT, electronics, electrical engineering, dedicated to specific models such as the railway model).

Students have access to certain rooms, particularly the computer rooms, until 11pm so that they can benefit from the resources they need to carry out their work.
