18 to 20 months of work placement

Work placements are a key part of the training programme. They give you the opportunity to apply the scientific and technical knowledge you acquired at school and to supplement it with field experience. This combination of school and company contributes to the training of engineers who are both immediately operational and adaptable to the needs of companies.

The aim of this 5-week work placement is to gain initial experience of industry and business. This is often your first professional experience, giving you an insight into all aspects of your future job. The aim of this work placement is to provide an insight into the world of industry, without any sector restrictions, through a production or service organisation assignment.

The aim of this 12-week work placement is to give you a better understanding of the work of a technical engineer, both in terms of technical activity and human responsibilities. During this work placement, under the supervision of an engineer, you will be responsible for a technical subject (development, implementation, testing, documentation) related to the course themes or a technician-level project.

This minimum 17-week work placement should give you the opportunity to gain international experience and discover a different approach to work through total immersion in an English-speaking environment. The course may be purely linguistic, or have a technical dimension. The aim is to evolve in an English-speaking cultural and linguistic context.

This work placement is linked to your option and can be combined with the 3rd year work placement and carried out abroad or in France. During this placement, your aim will be to carry out assignments as an apprentice engineer, performing tasks involving systems design, technical studies and development, testing, documentation, implementation of a work methodology and studies. The engineering apprenticeship must include project management, with significant responsibility and initiative.

This 22- to 26-week work placement is designed to give you hands-on experience of the responsibilities and activities of an engineer. The subject of the work placement is defined in agreement with the orientation supervisor. This work placement should enable you to apply the techniques taught, deal with a variety of organisational dimensions, implement conceptual and methodological approaches, and develop the interpersonal skills that are essential for engineers. The dimensions of project management, quality approach, functional and technical studies must be worked on.
